Can I edit my WordPress site myself after launch?
Yes. That is the reason we build custom designs on Elementor rather than hand-coding templates — your marketing person can change a headline, swap an image, update a price or publish a post without opening a code editor or raising a ticket.
We walk you through it at handover: editing text, replacing images, adding a page, publishing a post, and updating your contact details. Most people are comfortable within an hour.
The honest caveat: a visual editor gives you enough control to break a layout if you are determined. We build pages so the everyday edits are safe, and if you would rather not touch it at all, maintenance from AED 299 a month includes content edits.
What should I edit myself and what should I leave?
Safe to change: text on any page, images (keep to similar dimensions), prices, team members, blog posts, opening hours, contact details, and adding a page from an existing template.
Ask first: anything structural — page layout, the navigation menu, adding or removing plugins, theme settings, and changing a page URL. That last one matters more than it looks: changing a slug on an indexed page breaks every link to it unless a redirect is added at the same time.
Do not touch: plugin or theme files, anything described as “custom code”, and the database. Nothing good starts there.
A practical rule: if the change is content, do it. If the change is structure, ask. And take a backup before anything you are unsure about.
How often should a website be updated?
Two different kinds of update, on different clocks. Technical updates — WordPress core, theme, plugins — should be applied within days of release, because most are security patches. Content updates should be at least quarterly for prices, services and team pages, and more often if you publish.
The technical side is where sites get into trouble. The most common route to a hacked WordPress site is an unpatched plugin left alone for a year. It is also entirely preventable, which is what a maintenance plan is for.
On content: an out-of-date site quietly costs you credibility. A visitor who sees last year’s prices or a team page listing people who left assumes the rest is also stale.
What if I break something?
This is what backups are for. Managed hosting takes daily backups, and restoring a page to yesterday’s version is a routine job rather than a crisis.
If you are about to make a significant change, take a backup first and note the time. “It broke after I edited the homepage at 3pm” is a five-minute fix. “It broke sometime this month” is a much longer conversation.
