The Lebanese Institution for the Blind (L.I.B) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rehabilitation and care of visually impaired individuals. Founded in 1986 by Dr. Issa El-Maalouf, who is blind himself, the institution operates under a pure humanitarian mandate and does not involve itself in political activities. It is licensed by the Lebanese State, having obtained official recognition in 1987 under notification number 146/A.D.
