What Does a Restaurant Website Need in Dubai?

800website builds websites and ordering apps for F&B. We built the ordering site and mobile app for ChickenWay, a fried chicken restaurant in Beirut.

What does a restaurant website need in Dubai?

Five things, in this order: an HTML menu (not a PDF), online ordering, a tappable phone number and WhatsApp, directions, and opening hours. Everything else is decoration.

The PDF menu is the single most common mistake in F&B. A PDF cannot be read on a phone without pinching, and search engines cannot index the dish names inside it — so you never appear for the food you actually sell. A real menu page ranks for your dishes and reads properly on the device everyone is holding.

The context matters: diners are on a phone, often standing, deciding in under a minute. The site has to answer what you serve, what it costs, where you are and how to order — fast. Anything that delays those four answers costs you the customer.

What does a restaurant ordering app need?

Four features that earn their cost, and a caution. Saved addresses and accounts (AED 1,500) so repeat customers do not retype delivery details. Payment integration (AED 2,500). Push notifications (AED 1,000) for offers, which is the main reason an app beats a website commercially. Order status so customers stop phoning to ask.

The caution: do not start with an app. Build a mobile site that takes orders, prove people order, then build the app for your repeat customers. An app nobody has downloaded sells nothing, and acquiring downloads is a marketing cost most restaurants have not budgeted for. We built ChickenWay’s ordering website first and the app second, deliberately.

Apps start at AED 9,999 for iOS and Android in 6 to 8 weeks.

What does it cost for a restaurant?

A single-location site with online ordering realistically lands at AED 6,000 to AED 7,000: the AED 3,500 Business package, AED 2,500 payment integration, and AED 1,500 for maps and directions if you want the location block.

Add AED 1,000 for Arabic, AED 3,000 if you take table reservations, and AED 250 per page if you want the menu descriptions written properly rather than listing dish names.

A multi-location group needs the AED 6,999 Premium package, because each branch needs its own page with its own address and hours to appear in local search.

What about photography?

It is the highest-return spend in F&B and the most commonly skipped. Food photography sells food; supplier images and stock photos do not. If your budget is constrained, take it out of the design and put it into a photographer.

Photography is also what usually delays restaurant projects. Book it before the build starts, not during.
