800website builds healthcare websites in Dubai. Booking is the feature clinics ask for most and specify least, so here is what actually matters.
Does a UAE clinic need online booking?
In almost every case, yes — and the strongest argument is not convenience. It is that a booking system captures enquiries outside working hours, which for many clinics is a substantial share of demand that currently goes to whoever answers first tomorrow.
Patients increasingly expect to book without phoning, particularly for routine appointments and particularly among younger and expatriate patients. For sensitive consultations the preference is even stronger, because booking online avoids explaining the reason to a receptionist.
Keep the phone number prominent anyway. Urgent cases still call, and burying the number to push people into a form costs you the highest-intent enquiries.
Should it integrate with our practice management system?
If it can, yes — and check before you budget, because this single question determines the cost. A booking form that writes directly into your PMS avoids double entry and stops the two systems disagreeing about availability. One that does not simply emails reception, who then key it in.
Ask your PMS vendor one question: do you expose an API for appointments? If yes, integration is scoped work. If no, you are choosing between a standalone booking tool and a form.
Honest advice: a form that emails reception is a perfectly good starting point. Many clinics over-specify here, spend on integration, and discover the volume never justified it. Start simple, measure, then integrate.
What should the booking flow ask for?
As little as possible. Every additional field loses bookings, and clinics routinely ask for information that could be collected at the appointment:
- Name, phone, email — required.
- Treatment or department — so it routes correctly.
- Preferred practitioner — optional, not mandatory.
- Preferred date and time — a range beats a rigid calendar if your availability is not live.
What to leave out of the web form entirely: Emirates ID, insurance details, medical history. Collect those at the clinic. A website form is not the place for medical records, and asking for them online raises questions about handling that you do not need to answer at the booking stage.
What does it cost?
Booking or appointment functionality is AED 3,000 as an add-on. On the AED 6,999 Premium package a full clinic site with booking and Arabic lands around AED 11,000.
Whatever you build, test it by making a real booking yourself from an outside email address, then check it arrives in an inbox somebody reads. We have audited sites where the form had never delivered a single enquiry and the clinic assumed demand was low.
