800website builds e-commerce sites in Dubai — including stores for Creabites, a supplement brand, and ChickenWay, a restaurant taking orders online. Here are the real numbers.
How much does an e-commerce website cost in the UAE?
AED 6,000 to AED 12,000 in year one for a small to mid-size store. The build itself is AED 3,500 on our Business package (up to six pages, 14 days) or AED 6,999 on Premium (ten-plus pages including product subpages, 21 days).
Add AED 2,500 for payment integration and AED 2,400 for a year of premium hosting. A minimal store therefore starts around AED 8,400; a fuller one with content written for the products lands near AED 12,000.
From year two, the recurring cost is hosting at AED 2,400 plus maintenance from AED 299 a month. Gateway transaction fees are separate again and paid to the provider.
What does the total actually include?
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| Business build — 6 pages, 14 days | AED 3,500 |
| Premium build — 10+ pages, 21 days | AED 6,999 |
| Payment integration (Stripe or local gateway) | AED 2,500 |
| Premium hosting, 1 year | AED 2,400 |
| Domain (.com / .ae), 1 year | AED 200 |
| Extra product page beyond package | AED 400 each |
| Product description writing | AED 250 per page |
| Arabic | AED 1,000 |
| Maintenance after support window | from AED 299/month |
Large catalogues are imported in bulk from a spreadsheet and quoted as one job rather than per page.
How long does an e-commerce build take in the UAE?
14 days on Business, 21 on Premium, from the point we have your product data, images and content. The build is rarely the constraint.
Two things extend it, both outside the agency’s control. Payment gateway approval requires a trade licence and corporate bank account and can take weeks — start it before design begins. Product photography and descriptions, which for a store with fifty products is a substantial piece of work most clients underestimate.
Stores that arrive with clean product data and real photography launch on schedule. Stores waiting on either launch when those arrive.
Where is the money best spent?
Photography first, by a distance. A properly shot product image against a clean background, showing scale and detail, outsells a supplier photo consistently — and it is the line clients most often cut.
Second, product descriptions written for search rather than copied from the supplier sheet. Copied text is duplicate content across every retailer selling the same item, and it is why those pages never rank.
Third, checkout: guest checkout enabled, delivery cost visible before the final step, and a phone or WhatsApp number for the buyers who want to ask before they commit.
